Over 500 undocumented immigrants have been arrested in various U.S. cities during a series of raids.
U.S. immigration agents conducted these operations on Thursday, according to reports from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The White House shared this information in a post on X (formerly Twitter), confirming the arrests of undocumented immigrants.
According to the White House's X post, 538 undocumented immigrants were apprehended during the raids conducted yesterday.
Authorities had already been searching for these individuals due to their involvement in various crimes.
In the X post, the White House stated that this incident is a small example of the efforts being undertaken by the Trump administration to secure U.S. borders.
According to U.S. media reports, raids targeting undocumented immigrants were conducted in multiple cities, including Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, and Miami.
The operation took place two days after ICE officials received authorization from the Trump administration to arrest undocumented immigrants in places such as churches and schools, where they might seek refuge.
On Monday, President Trump assumed office. He has pledged to remove millions of undocumented immigrants residing in the U.S. and has already taken several steps in this regard.
